A Bunch of Random Pics and News

Amelia and Mommy enjoying a dip in the pool. For Coach John, she will swim without her floaties, not so much for me and Daddy. Maybe by the end of the summer...

The one hope I have for Amelia is to be a happy young lady who loves Jesus, but a second hope that I have for her (and her Aunt Jackie) is to become a Kappa Delta. I found my old jersey and tried it on her-how cute. Her Daddy, not so happy, no! no! he said, take it off, turn away Amelia! What's up with that??!!?

Cute red faced Amelia.

Enjoying a sweet treat from the ice cream man, the highlight of our days in the summer. Probably why she had 3 cavities, huh?

Amelia and her dentist, Dr. Rohner, who she loves, or did. She had her first cavity filled yesterday and now I think she probably doesn't love her as much.

This is a picture of the family (obviously) made at Nana and Derf's before Claude and I went out with Jackie and Thad for my birthday.

Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming....

Amelia has been taking swimming lessons at her at her school for a little over a year now. She is doing very well with her lessons, although she is not completely convinced that going underwater is the best thing to do. She LOVES her coach, Coach John. She talks about him any time we are in the pool or in the bathtub. She makes me or Mimi be Coach John and play swimming lessons with her. I got to go and watch swim on Friday and it was great to see what all she can do.

See, she can do it all by herself!!!

Our swimming bug-she looked so cute in goggles, but she was FREEZING in the water

A Fun Lunch Date

One of the best things about being a teacher is having my summer's off, well not completely off, but kind of off. Today was one of those days that I didn't have anything to do school related so Amelia and I had lunch with one of my students, Carlee, and her mom. Amelia LOVES Carlee. She talks about her all the time and she was so excited to see her. She kept asking, Mommy, can she come in the car with us and ride with us? We'll have to plan another lunch date soon!

Hot Fun in the Summertime!

Here we go....

I have been wanting to create a blog for a while, I actually started one a year or so ago and then never did anything about it. Lately though I have begun to read several blogs myself and become "addicted" to them. Not really, but I do enjoy reading them. I think that it will be a good way to keep up with our life and especially for pictures of Amelia-I have a few of those.

So here's to blogging, thanks to Jackie for inspiring me (and to Kelly's Korner and Mckmama) and for her technical support.

Amelia had her first date with James. Actually she had her first date period. James is the son of a good friend of mine from CES. They actually have an arranged marriage, they just don't know it yet. We've already planned that they'll go to prom together and that Bradley, James' mom, and I will go them. We accompanied them on their first date as well. I would be honored if James would marry Amelia, he's such a cutie, even if he is a Bama fan! HA!

It's summer in Alabama and that means not as much stress as normal (kind of-a different kind of stress really) so we've been enjoying some time outside and playing with friends. Amelia likes to play outside and ride her bike.
